Decathlon Appoints Google Executive as New CMO

French sporting goods retailer Decathlon has appointed Francois Dechery as its new chief marketing officer, effective March 6, 2023. A seasoned marketing and digital transformation expert, Dechery joins Decathlon following a successful career at Google, where he held various leadership roles over the past decade. In his new role at Decathlon, Dechery will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s global marketing strategy, driving growth, and strengthening brand awareness. He will oversee all aspects of marketing, including advertising, digital marketing, social media, and customer engagement. Prior to joining Decathlon, Dechery served as the head of global marketing for Google Cloud, where he led the development and execution of marketing campaigns that accelerated the adoption of Google Cloud’s products and services.
